Artist Bio
Faezeh Sheigani, also known as Flora, is a multidisciplinary artist based in North Vancouver. Her creative path began with drawing detailed mandalas, drawn to their structure, repetition, and quiet focus. As her practice grew, she expanded into landscapes, abstract work, realism, figure drawing, and portraiture.
Flora works primarily in oil and acrylic, alternating between precise detail and more fluid, expressive techniques. She is especially interested in the emotional language of the human figure—how posture and subtle movement can suggest a deeper narrative. Her paintings often explore contrasts: clarity and ambiguity, stillness and motion, structure and spontaneity.
Experimentation is central to her approach. Rather than committing to one style or medium early on, Flora has focused on learning widely. For her, exploring different techniques isn’t just about variety—it’s a way of understanding the full range of what art can be. This broad foundation allows her to create with intention and freedom, shaping a visual language that continues to evolve.
Flora has been mentored by several Vancouver-based artists whose guidance helped her deepen her understanding of materials and form. Alongside this mentorship, years of self-directed practice have played a key role in shaping her creative voice.
Through physical and mental struggles, Flora has found art to be a constant that grounds her and helps her move forward. Her work reflects resilience, curiosity, and a willingness to grow through uncertainty, both in painting and in life.
